About Us

Collector. Curator. Keeper of beautiful things.

Myla, founder of Memories by Myla, in her antique shop

The story behind the shop

I grew up in a house full of old things. My grandmother had a cabinet of curiosities — a pressed glass dish, a silver brooch, a small painted box that nobody could quite explain. I spent hours with those objects, turning them over, wondering about the hands that had held them before mine.

That early fascination never left me. Over the years it became a practice: wandering estate sales on quiet Saturday mornings, ducking into antique markets in small towns, learning to recognize the weight and warmth of something genuinely old.

Memories by Myla grew out of that practice. It is not a warehouse or a catalogue — it is a collection, assembled slowly and with care, one piece at a time.

"Every object carries the memory of the hands that held it before yours."

How I choose

Provenance matters

I try to know where a piece has been. Not always possible — but when I can trace a history, I share it. An object with a story is worth more than one without.

Condition is honest

I describe wear and age truthfully. A small chip or a worn edge is part of a piece's life, not a flaw to hide. You will know exactly what you are getting.

One of a kind, always

Everything here is the real thing. No reproductions, no mass-produced 'vintage-style' items. If it is in my shop, it is genuinely old and genuinely singular.

The right home

I would rather a piece go to someone who loves it than sell quickly to someone indifferent. If you have questions, ask. I am happy to talk about any item at length.

Thank you for being here
